As an individual, I have some pretty basic principles I like to live my life by; never steal, be kind, lead with love, etc. But one in particular I apply, with no restriction, to my business. Never ask someone to do something that you yourself would not do.
During most sessions, I will see a client hesitate or pause and I know why. I know why they have taken a moment because I have done it too. I will see them start overthinking the pose or their "good side" and will physically see the light and the joy seep from their face and eyes. Please know I have been there and it is my mission to build you up and portray you in the best possible circumstances.

I have put myself in your shoes and come out the other side a better photographer
Some sessions are more difficult than others but they all face the same challenges:
a parent trying to over direct the child who is laughing and enjoying the session (with the exuberance and energy of a kid)
a partner trying to replicate exactly what they saw on Pinterest (problem is that each image is unique to the people and their bonds)
our self esteem getting the better of us (when honestly all I see is pure magic)
worrying about if you blinked (honest, I take so many images per pose, you don't need to even consider this one, haha)
Some great tips for coming prepared and ready to shine at your session are so simple they will have you smiling;
BE YOURSELF
Get some sleep!
Keep a good skin care regime for the week prior
Please do not make any drastic changes within a week of your pictures (this includes but is not limited to tanning, coloring your hair, waxing for the first time, new facial peels, abrasion therapies, etc - there have been some nightmare scenarios)
have a feel good song that makes you dance and smile ready to go, *dance party*
Boudoir clients, do not wear tight, restrictive clothing leading up to your shoot.
I am here for you! I want to see you in all your images, not a model or a character, just you being yourself - whatever that looks like! It can take some time to warm up (and that is built into our time together) but by the end of it you won't even know what you were worried about.
Trust me!
Lana

Love this and love you! <3
